Jewels Care

With time silver jewels have the tendency to acquire some patina. It's a completely normal phenomen, as it's a simple chemical reaction what we call a oxydation phenomen.

Here are some advices how you can protect your jewels from loosing their shine.

Sheilandi is recommending you natural products of our everyday life which are working really well and can sometimes do miracles !

Grandmother's way

• Apply a little bit of tooth paste with the help of an old tooth brush, rub it delicately, rince with clean water, then with a soft cloth wipe your jewel.
• Soak your jewel for 3-4 minutes in methylated spirits and dry it with a soft cloth.
• Prepare a paste with some water and baking soda, rub your jewel and then rince it carefully with clean water.

Every day

• Avoid wearing your jewels under the shower, in the swimming pool, on the beach, at the sea or when you're doing sports.
• Also take off your jewels when sleeping or when you're doing housework.
• Apply the cream, make up, nail polish, perfume ideally ½ hour before putting on your jewels.

Storage

• A tip: pack your jewels separately in cellophane to avoid their contact with air.
• In order to protect your Sheilandi jewels it is better to avoid getting them scratched when they are in contact ones with others. To do that, it will be enough to protect them individually and store each jewel is its case or separate departments of a jewellery box.



Please avoid

• Avoid cleaning your jewels with alcohol or other products containing mercure.
• Don't use solvents or products "special silver" which are too abrasive to take care of your jewellery Sheilandi.
